This was our second visit to a family island, and our new favorite. We had visited Long Island a year ago and were therefore expecting beautiful, deserted beaches, warm water and friendly people. Cat Island certainly doesn’t disappoint!! Perfect house layout, and incredible proximity to the water makes for an unforgettable vacation destination. If you’re lucky enough to get to Cat Island, this house will try to coax you to stay. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise!!!
This was one amazing place. Lovely home, well appointed. Beach access supurb. Loved every singe day. People on Cat Island very friendly and laid back. One said Cat Island is the place to come with nothing to do and all day to do it. He was right. Hope to go again.
Just had stay at this wonderful beach house. It was close to the beach, yet very private. The large porch was always shaded and breezy in the afternoon. The caretaker, Danny King, who is a great guy, is also very helpful and has great knowledge about the history of the island. We enjoyed kayaking and also the fire pit.
We stayed at the house for 9 days and absolutely loved it! It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Danny, the property manager, was incredible- so kind, very helpful and an absolute joy to deal wiith. The little beach out front is beautiful and relatively private as there are only 3 other houses on it, yet a 5 minute walk away is beautiful Pigeon Cay beach where you can walk for ages. It is super easy to get into the ocean out front and it is shallow and sandy, good for young and old alike. We loved hanging out reading on the front porch in those big green chairs and the ceiling fans came in very handy when the no see-ums appeared. The kayaks were a nice addition and the snorkelling equipment ws a great bonus too. All in all, a great place. My only negative comment, and it is pretty minor, regards the kitchen knives- all were very dull. If this is the kind of thing that bothers you, just be sure to bring one from home. I would definitely stay here again in a heart beat. The owner is a dream to deal with as well, super helpful and very responsive.
Just down the stone steps is the finest salt water private swimming pool(Caribbean). The week we were there three of the neighboring properties were occupied however we almost never saw them. We had morning and afternoon tea on the stone patio without a soul in sight. If your desire is to escape the masses this is the place. The beaches on Cat Island are incredible. The home itself is clean and well maintained with everything one needs. Ceiling fans allow you to be comfortable with the doors open at night so that you can sleep with the sounds of the surf. Our local host was most gracious and always available for questions . We took the owner's advice and had lunch out and made dinner at home for the most part. Lunch at Shanas Beach Cove on the North end and Fernandez Bay on the South end both with great food and incredible views. We had read a review regarding driving at night and narrow roads, turns out to be true but no bother. Dinner at Fernandez Bay didn't begin until just at sunset so we were late returning home without an issue. There are well stocked grocery stores at each end and a liquor store in New Bight with most of one's desires. To sum it up we had a great time.
