The cottage is a two (2) bedroom, two(2) walk-in bathrooms(shower stalls) home that sleeps five. Ideally suited for families with children or groups of couples or friends. The living room has a Television (local channels), DVD. & VCR. The bedrooms have air-conditioners & ceiling fans. The Master bedroom has two (2) single beds. The Guest bedroom also has two (2) single beds as well as a folding bed. There are radios in the bedrooms. A covered patio is located outside the bedrooms. There is also a covered and enclosed patio off the living room. All floors are tiled. All windows & doors have security bars. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern appliances, Oven, Stove, Micro Wave, Blender, Coffee Percolator,refrigerator etc. A Washing Machine is also available in the laundry room. There are telephones in all rooms. The cottage is ideally located across the street from the Discovery Bay Beach Hotel and is a 5 minute walk to the lively 1st and 2nd streets and the shopping mall. It is also close to taxis and the bus stop.
Dining: The West Coast offers a great choice of restaurants and bars ranging from good value fast food (Chefette's and Pizza Hut) to elegant dining. The renowned London-based restaurant 'Daphne's' can now also be found in the heart of the West Coast. The El Gecko Tex-Mex Bar & Restaurant, Mannie's Suga Suga Beach Bar & Restaurant on Mullins Beach, Cocomos Beach Bar & Restaurant located along the beach from Discovery Bay Beach Hotel. These are only a few suggestions. The Friday night ' Fish fry' at Oistin's is worth a visit. There are many more elegant restaurants available in the area. The free 'Barbados Holiday Guide' is available at the shopping mall.
Beaches: You can bask in the sun on the beach at the hotel and enjoy the various water sports and the Beach Bar. Mullins Beach with the 'Suga Suga' Beach Bar & Restaurant is worth a visit. Miami Beach in Christ Church is great for children. As you walk along the Discovery Bay beach you will see the 'Surf & Turf' Sports Bar as well as the Cocomos Beach Bar & Restaurant.
The West Coast is definitely the best coast for snorkeling. One of the better places for snorkeling is the 'Folkestone Marine Reserve', which is walking distance from the cottage..
Sightseeing: Barbados is special because there is so much to see in such a small area. The landscape changes often from parish to parish and there are more attractions per square kilometre than in any other Caribbean island. We hope that you enjoy discovering the marvels of the island.
