We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The views are spectacular and the apartment is clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was right there. I would suggest renting a Jeep as the ferry is right there to take you to St. John and all over St. Thomas. Chris and Maxine are so sweet, and helpful. We will definitely be back!!

Lion's Gate Studio was a delightful mountaintop retreat from busy Red Hook below. It was spacious with a variety of outdoor sitting spaces to either be in the sun or find shelter from it, at all times of day. Being away from it all, you could still watch ferries and sailboats come and go in addition to having a great view of St John. Special treats were Louie, one of the friendliest dogs we've ever met who lives at Lion's Gate and a bevy of sugar birds and doves which populated the the trees by the sitting areas. Max, who met us below and guided us up the hill to give us the details related to our stay, was a delight to speak with and was always available should we have any additional questions. We look forward to returning.

Maxine did a great job communicating with us prior to and during our stay. She and Chris accommodated our early arrival by meeting us in Red Hook and picking up our luggage so we could enjoy the day without our luggage in the back of the car. The apartment had a steady breeze that made the AC unnecessary. We're looking forward to our next stay!

I had a wonderful stay. The view from my deck was amazing and relaxing. Maxine is a great host and gave me a lot of good information about places to go and what to see. Her dog Lou would welcome me back home everyday. I would love to go back sometime.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in late March 2019 and had an amazing experience. The house is very clean and cozy and overlooks an amazing view of Red Hook Harbor. The patio that wraps around the house is a great place to watch the sun rise over breakfast and set over dinner. If you decide not to cook in the kitchen, Red Hook downtown is a short walk away and has an assortment of awesome restaurants and bars with great views. Max was a very amiable hostess and was more than willing to offer suggestions on things to do and never hesitated to give us a ride when we needed it. Really can’t say enough good things about this place, we will be back!
