Awesome location, very quiet...
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely Rum Point getaway. We traveled with our 4 year old and 16 month old and they loved it. The house was perfect. The location was great for kids. We will definitely go back one day.
Loved the property! Condo was exactly as details in listing suggested. There is access to all that is needed (towels, chairs, coolers, snorkel equipment) to either stay in Rum Point area or travel to any of the other public beaches. We loved that it was away from the crowds in the Seven Mile Beach area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quite place to stay with still plenty to do.
Had a great week! House was perfect for us - 2 retired couples. The kayaks were a nice addition, allowing us to get out on bio-luminescence bay at night. What an experience - definitely a must. We used the bikes to get around the local area including Starfish Beach. A tour out to Stingray Point is another must. Thank you Zuzana & Lennert.
We loved our stay on Grand Cayman! The condo is on the Rum Point area of the island and close to many activities. Our stay was quiet and relaxing. If you enjoy doing your own cooking this place is great, just plan to arrive any day but Sunday as most stores are closed. Chisholms does have a small store nearby that is open Sundays. The owners were super easy to deal with online and we very much enjoyed the entire experience.
As this was our first time to the Cayman Islands I did quite a bit of research prior to our arrival. I could not have been happier with the accommodations. They were exactly as described and everything (snorkel gear, coolers, chairs, beach equipment, kayaks etc) were in great condition. The house was just steps away from Rum Point and Red Sail Sports which was very handy. We will definitely recommend to friends and family!
This island house is well-equipped with 2 bikes and 3 kayaks. Everything was as expected. Thanks!
Loved our stay here! Enjoyed the area so much especially the fact we were away from the hustle and bustle. The property was quaint and clean and perfect for our family. The owner was informative and responsive! Absolutely loved our stay and the Rum Pount area!
My family and I spent 9 days at Barefoot Lagoon. There was a total of 7 of us - four adults, one child, and one 3 year old. The house was plenty big enough for us. When we started looking for houses to rent our criteria was a quite location, beach access, and good restaurants. Rum Point was perfect for us. To access Rum Point Beach you only have to walk out the front door and cross the street. The beach is small but never felt crowded. There’s also a good bar that serves food and drinks during the day. Definitely recommend the Cayman Lemonade and Pink Sand beach. Starfish point was 2 miles away and definitely a small beach to checkout. There were lots of starfish to see and hold and the day we went there was a boat food truck in the water! We went to the Turtle Center (a must!), Stingray City tour, Crystal Caves, Queen Elizabeth’s Botanical Garden, shopping along 7 mile beach, and tried several restaurants. The island is expensive so we did cook a lot of our meals. The cheapest grocery store we found was in West Bay. We stopped on the way home from the Turtle center. We loved our vacation and would love to visit again. I definitely recommend Zuzana and her Barefoot lagoon property!
This was our first time in Grand Cayman and this property was in a perfect location! It is located right on bioluminescent bay and across from Rum Point. The bioluminescent bay offered a remarkable experience for us and our teenage girls and was made all the easier with the kayaks provided by the homeowners. We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Rum Point, sitting on the beach, and sampling the cocktails from the Wreck Bar & Grill. This house had everything that we needed to enjoy this vacation from the kayaks, bicycles, snorkeling equipment, and the beach gear. Zuzana gave wonderfully detailed directions to the home as well as recommendations for dining and local excursions. We loved enjoying the warm weather on the screened-in lanai, as well as escaping from the heat in the nicely air-conditioned interior. We rented a car and traveled around the island several times including visiting 7 mile beach. We were extremely happy that we chose not to stay in the Georgetown/7 mile beach area as we were looking for a quieter area without the crowds from the cruise ships. We would definitely return again to the Barefoot Lagoon!
Great location and walking distance to great eateries and entertainment. The bikes and kayaks were great to have. Loved the view!! Kitchen is very well equipped! Has washer and dryer and all you need is soap! A home away from home. Definitely want to go back soon!!
We wanted to let you know what an amazing time that we had when staying at Island House #11, Barefoot Lagoon. The house had everything that we could possibly have needed and the location was absolutely perfect! We utilized the kayaks and the snorkeling equipment almost daily. The bioluminescent bay did not disappoint; it was spectacular. It was so nice being away from the craziness of the Seven Mile Beach area. We ate all of our meals on the screened-in lanai; it was so peaceful and beautiful. We loved being able to cook meals when we wanted to and the kitchen was stocked with all of the essentials that we needed. We really appreciate all of the information that you provided as far as how to get to the house, grocery stores, restaurants, and things to see and do. We ate several dinners at Over The Edge Cafe and enjoyed them. We loved being able to relax, sleep in, and then walk across the street to one of the prettiest spots on the island, Rum Point Beach. We did a lot of exploring of the island in our eight days there and were always grateful to come back to one of the best places on the island and one of my favorite places on earth. In all of our snorkeling trips, probably my favorite was at Smith Barcadere. It seemed like more of a locals' hangout but it was like snorkeling in an aquarium. You could literally just step right out into the reef area. We even saw a little octopus on the sea bottom. My husband and daughter went on several scuba diving trips through Off The Wall Divers in Georgetown and we can't recommend them enough if anyone asks. We hope to one day make it back to this little island paradise!
Condo was fantastic. It was located near all the activities we enjoyed. This place had everything that we needed!
We stayed at Island a house with another couple and immediately fell in love with the area. The location is incredible and the kayaks and snorkeling gear made the bioluminescent lagoon even more enjoyable. Just be sure to clean the snorkel gear well. Some of it is a little older but there was good equipment in the closet. We’d spend the morning in the lagoon and the afternoon at Rum Point beach. The restaurants at Rum Point are great and we’d highly recommend the Monday night BBQ (reservations usually required) as it was something we stumbled upon and were lucky enough to get a table. Was a great way to start the week. The house was cleaned well and everything there made us feel at home. We stocked the fridge and enjoyed cooking at home at eating on the screened in porch. If you’re really picky you can find issues here and there with the bikes or some of the beach toys/equipment but they’re all amenities and it was great to have everything there as opposed to renting kayaks and snorkel gear. The house isn’t new but it’s well-maintained. We loved our trip and would recommend both the Island House and Rum Point for anyone looking for peace, quiet and the avoidance of the madness of Seven Mile Beach. Particularly when the cruise ships are at port. Thank you for a great week on Grand Cayman.
This was our first and they set the bar high. From start to finish the owners were very thorough. The house and amenities we're everything and more than detailed on their listing. The house had everything you would need. We are a family of five and we had all the room we needed. They were great for answering questions about the island not related to the house. Their recommendations of car rental and excursion companies helped create a perfect family vacation. Being right on the Bio Bay made for quiet mornings and evenings. The house was great and the owners made everything so easy. I would easily rent this place again!
The property is located right across from Rum Point which is a public beach that offers excellent food (from beach bar/food to nice dining), water rentals, hair-braiding, an expansive dock, plenty of beach lounge chairs, beach volleyball and a reasonably-priced gift shop. The Rum Point staff is very accommodating and create an "island-life" laid-back atmosphere. The property itself was a good size for our family of five with zoned A/C and a lovely screened-in porch with a beautiful view of the cove and palm trees. It sits right on the bioluminescent bay which is a really neat thing to do on kayaks at night. The location is perfect. We could enjoy the public beach across the street or our very private cove outside our back patio. The pool was another great amenity and was never crowded, even during peak season. The kayaks and bikes were a great addition to the rental property. We biked to nearby Kaibo Yacht Club & Beach (awesome BBQ buffet on Tuesday nights) where our rented boat picked us up (Get Bent Charters). You can also take a water taxi from Kaibo over to Cabana Bay (upscale shopping) and 7 Mile Beach. Rum Point is a more relaxing experience than 7 Mile Beach. We loved how relaxing it was and once you arrive, you really don't have to drive anywhere unless you want to; there's plenty to do within biking distance. The condo was well stocked with all of our needs and the beds were very comfortable. Working with Zuzana was wonderful! She will get back to you right away if you have any questions about your upcoming stay and follows-up with you afterwards. She will send you a lot of valuable information about your stay, including directions from the airport, grocery store options (not a big one near Rum Point) and other details about your stay. The property management office is right across the street if you run into any problems, which we did not. This was our favorite family vacation and we can't wait to go back!
Barefoot Lagoon had everything we needed! From the initial email communication including thorough and extensive details from the property owners - on the island itself, property, driving directions, recommendations & detailed maps to the well-stocked, calm, serene & peaceful property. We couldn’t have asked for more! We rented a car and explored the island and Rumpoint was the best! Loved the island vibes and character of Rum Point! We loved biking and kayaking daily. We loved Starfish Point, Sting Ray City and also took a drive to Smith Barcadere/Cove closer to George Town and was quaint, stunning and great snorkeling! Truly one of our all time favorite week-long destinations! Spectacular family vacation with our 15 & 17 year old daughters.
We had a wonderful time staying in this townhouse. The lagoon was beautiful, especially at night when we took out the kayaks to see the bio-luminescence. We also really enjoyed eating out on the lanai, enjoying the sun and view. There is a private pool for the compound a few steps away that was both quiet and clean. The beds were comfy with clean linens, and the bathrooms were clean and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with implements and has a large fridge to stock food and drinks that can be picked up down the road at the grocery store. Across the street is the public beach of Rum Point, we enjoyed the drinks and food. There is also Red Sail Sports located there, we went through them to go diving and to Stingray City. The street itself is quiet, as there is no resorts in the area. To get to Georgetown you can drive around the island or take a water taxi located a short walk south of the lagoon. We would definitely recommend renting a car, as its a few kilometres to the grocery store, as well as the Crystal Caves, and the diving spot on the east end of the island, having the car made getting anywhere convenient. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives, and we cannot wait to return.
Thank You Zuzana! We had a wonderful time. Kept the house open the whole week not needing air conditioning. Used the kayaks and visited the beach at the cove opening all week, we had the beach to ourselves. Kayaked at night in the bioluminescent cove. Your directions for the house and prompt communications were on point and greatly appreciated. Went snorkeling often. Swam with the rays. Enjoyed Czech's Inn Grill and Vivine's Kitchen. We found the house very clean and complete with everything you listed for the rental. You've got a wonderful spot at Rum Point!
Host, manager, and location wonderful. Had a great time.
We had a wonderful vacation at Rum Point. From start to finish, the owner was incredibly helpful. The house is very well maintained and fully equipped. The location is spectacular with Rum Point beach being minutes away. The house came with bicycles, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. It was a lovely family vacation. I can't fault it.
The family loved our stay here. Great home very well equipped. Snorkel, kayaks etc. very helpful. Property manager excellent, minor problem quickly sorted. Bio bay was a wonder at night by kayak, went out almost every night! I am sure we will be back. Thank you.
Our family of 4 (2 daughters ages 10 and 13) stayed for 8 nights in early August and we had a wonderful time. Zuzana sent us very helpful information ahead of time and was great about answering all of my questions, and telling us where to buy food when we landed, as we arrived on a Sunday when all the grocery stores are closed. (There is a convenience store a few miles away from the property that has all the essentials.) Island House 11 is well stocked and well maintained and was perfect for our family. The beds were very comfortable, the a/c units cooled quickly and efficiently, the wifi and TV worked well, and the kitchen had all the essentials needed for cooking. Our daughters enjoyed their own private balcony off their bedroom, inside the lanai. We enjoyed the quieter atmosphere and being away from the crowds at Seven Mile Beach. We found good fitting snorkeling gear for 3 of the 4 of us (my 10 yo is petite and we thought fitting her might be tough so we brought gear along for her) and used it almost every day. The only thing that slightly marred our wonderful vacation was the presence of Sargassum seaweed, which is wreaking havoc this season on many parts of the Caribbean, and was parked at Rum Point for our entire stay. So we drove to other snorkeling sites and went on a few more excursions than we might have otherwise. We particularly enjoyed a 3 stop snorkel trip in the east end with Ocean Frontiers, and highly recommend them. We also finished up our vacation with a one tank dive with White Sands (a first for our daughters!) and the dive instructors were great. We took a day to swim with the dolphins (amazing experience!!) and wade with the sea turtles at the turtle farm. We were also able to do some snorkeling in that area, (and dropped in at Hell to send some postcards ) so even though it was a bit of a drive from the Cayman Kai area we did so much and had a great day. We visited starfish point twice, used the kayaks several times, and enjoyed the pool which was clean and had some nice shade during the day. We ate many meals in, but got take out from Over the Edge which is nearby, and Chicken Chicken at Seven Mile Beach, both of which were very good. We also had dinner one night at the restaurant at Rum Point, and found the food to be very good. Overall our vacation was fantastic, and we would definitely return to Island House 11!
We had a great 9 day stay at Barefoot Lagoon. Zuzanna was very helpful and always answered my questions promptly by email. She even called before we left to make sure that we didn't have any questions. The property was very nice in a great location. It is right on the bio luminescent bay and right across from Rum Point. We really enjoyed having the 3 Kayaks (2 singles and 1 double) and the bikes. We exercised daily (despite the summer heat) and cooled off by snorkeling. 3 bikes worked great but the chain kept falling off of the 4th. She had said that 2 were newer and kept inside and the other 2 were outside in the storage shed. We saved a bunch of money on a bio luminescent kayak trip by doing it ourselves with the kayaks! We also were able to ride the bikes to the little grocery store. Though it is about a 20 minute bike ride, it was nice to get some exercise this way. The roads are very bike friendly! It is a bit of a drive to 7 Mile Beach (~45+ minutes) but is not a big deal. We went over to this side of the island a couple of times during our stay. We liked being up on the North Side though as it was much less developed. This side of the island is much more laid back and less developed. The snorkeling off of Rum Point was the best we found on the entire Island. We saw all kinds of sea life and the coral was AMAZING. It was about a 7 minute swim out to the reef. We could walk to Starfish Point and also had a good time on the Mastic Trail and at the QE2 Botanical Garden. Definitely take a GUIDED tour. The guide was awesome and told us a TON about the plants.
Our family of six had such a memorable stay at the Barefoot Lagoon house on Grand Cayman! The home is right on the end of the bioluminescent cove and across from the ocean! The kids loved to see the fish darting under the water leaving a bioluminescent trail in it’s path. Their were three kayaks and also bicycles provided on the property for our use which made it so convenient. The house was stocked with plenty of bathing and beach towels and extra sheets. There were plenty kitchen utensils so you really could have cooked any meal you would want to make. It even had a crock pot! The location was great, right across from the ocean and Red Sail Watersports for excursions. We really enjoyed returning in the evenings to the privacy and tranquility of Rum Point. It was like we had the whole place to ourselves.
We had a really nice time in the house and loved the location. We did so many things from snorkeling at Rum Point to Georgetown. We drove to see the breakers, Blow Holes and did the Cayman Caves. I am so glad that we were able to see the cove light up at night with the bioluminescence. That was fantastic!! The kayaks were in good condition too. We found the house to be very comfortable, excellent wifi and tv service!! The beds and bedding were very comfortable too! Air conditioning and temperature of the house was great too! The kitchen was well equipped and when we needed something the property manager was quick to bring it to us! The grill worked great and we were very appreciative of the charcoal that was left behind. I LOVED that the dishwasher was extremely quiet! There was plenty of snorkeling equipment in various sizes in good condition for us to use. I appreciated that you had coolers, floats and toys for smaller children for us to use. The floats were in great condition and the boys at Red Sail sports were very nice to inflate them for us!! We were very impressed with the overall maintenance of the entire property. Everyday someone was cleaning the pool area and surrounding cove. We are very sad to be back home and would love to return to the Cayman again. You have been excellent and extremely thorough with all your information. I have enjoyed working with you. Thank you very much for the Hertz rental car discount too! The kids loved that we rented a jeep and drove all over the island. I have worked with many people when renting a property and you are by far the best person I have worked with!! We really enjoyed our vacation and will definitely come back!!
The Barefoot Lagoon island house has been our place to stay on Grand Cayman since 2004. It has always been clean and well maintained. The location on the quiet side of the island offers relaxation for those who desire it but it also is a great spot for snorkelers, from the novice just beginning to enjoy the beauty of the sea to the more experienced who are looking to discover new undersea life. On our stay this year we found 3 new surprises - a sea horse under the pier, an octopus under broken coral, and queen triggerfish. This is in addition to our previous trips on which we have seen French angelfish, queen angelfish, rainbow parrotfish, a loggerhead turtle, a school of 8 to 10 thousand scads, as well as all the other plentiful sea life, hard corals, and soft corals. The dining near Rum Point is casual and delicious. The Kaibo is only a 5 minute drive and Over The Edge is only 10 to 15 minutes. It you have the chance, on Friday mornings only, Miss Marsha serves up great island food out of her house. Ask the locals at or near Over The Edge where her mango colored house is. This year we enjoyed lobster, clam, conch, turtle and barbecued chicken. All delicious. Also look into Tukka where you can feed the frigate birds at 5 each afternoon. So you can just relax at the pool or on the beach, be an active snorkeler, or enjoy many of the nearby restaurants. But best of all, you can do it all from the Barefoot Lagoon Island House. Phil and Patti D.
We Loved Barefoot Lagoon. The home is beautiful, clean and has everything you could need. Rum Point is much quieter and more peaceful than 7 mile beach. We loved the Bioluminescent Bay, we jumped in the bay to see the effect the lights had when swimming which was incredible. We are so glad we chose the beautiful Rum Point area it had everything we needed without the crowds. The water was crystal, clear ideal for using the kayaks provided. Thank you for sharing your home.
Our stay at Barefoot lagoon was perfect. We’ve been traveling to the area for over 10 years and have always had the greatest time. The location is key and the views are even better. Between the ocean, lagoon, and pool; there was plenty for our crew to do. We can’t wait for our next trip!
We had the best time in the Caymans. My husband and I, our 2 small children, and my parents really enjoyed staying in the Barefoot Lagoon house. The location was perfect; we had the lagoon, kayaks, bikes, the pool and Rum Point Beach. Rum Point is the place to go for total relaxation. The water was perfect: clear, warm, calm. My kids learned to snorkel, so we enjoyed seeing the many fish right off of the beach. We found the Island House in excellent condition and thoughtfully designed for convenience and comfort. All 6 of us fit quite comfortably in the home. The owner and manager were very helpful and welcoming. Having a washer and dryer in the unit meant that I didn't have to pack too much, and a big thank you for providing beach towels for us to use We'll definitely consider staying here in our future visits to the Cayman Islands.
We spend one week at this property and loved it. The place is spacious and has all the amenities you need. It is quiet but only a few steps to the Rum Point beach. We used kayaks on the lagoon or go snorkelling from the Rum Point beach. We also loved to bike to the Kaibo beach, restaurant or to Starfish Point. We are recommending the location to all our friends and family!
We could not be more happy with our recent stay at Barefoot Lagoon Island House. Not only is the house comfortable, it offers everything you need. Snorkel equipment, kayaks, bicycles and more. Sitting on the lanai and just looking at the tropical setting was worth the trip in itself. The house is located at Rum Point beach offering water activities in stunning crystal clear water. There are both fine dining restaurants and beach bars within walking distance or an easy bike ride. Located on the quiet side of the island, Barefoot Lagoon Island House is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation.
